My Review:
From the very beginning this series sucks kiddos in and doesn't let them go without them something to think about. Even if it's dressed up in piratey talk and being hashed out between a few humans and some animals, the lessons that Carole is teaching within these pages are amazing and I highly recommend the entire series, but of course you have to start with the first one!

My Review:
Once again Carole has put such an important lesson in front of kids in a fun and inviting way. This was one we talked about afterwards because my son is in school now and it's really important for him to remember about new friends.
I truly love how Carole takes such key life lessons and lessons that all little kids need to know and shapes them into something fun and yet educational!

My Review:
What little kid truly understand the concept of patience and how sometimes it takes time for things to get done? None! But that's something they do come to learn. Carole does a great job at showing that it isn't something that just one person suffers through but everyone and everyone must learn the art of being patient.
Like the other books in this series, Carole has done a great job at presenting an important lesson for the kids in a way that they both understand and enjoy learning about.

I particularly liked this one. Often times you find kids feeling left out or not as useful because they're too small, too young, don't know better, etc. This book pushes home the point to never judge that small package by it's look or not to judge a tiny matey by the size of her diappy.
Having an older son and a toddler daughter, they really got a kick out of this one because it hit so close to home. I want to believe that they really understood, and my son took an important meaning from it. :)

This one was another important one. My son's always been big for his age so kids have a tendency to look to him for leadership, and sometimes he can be a bit on the bossy sides... this is especially true with his little sister.
So while we were reading this one, it gave a great opportunity to talk about not being bossy and remembering to treat your friends and sister how you want to be treated. Such a great series for allowing important lessons to be learned in a fun and exciting way.

My Review:
I don't actually know the right order of the books, this was the last one we read though. I felt like it was longer than the others as well- something I noticed in Carole's other series If You Were Me and Lived In... They too seem to be increasing in length.
Since we read these at night, it's a little harder to keep them focuses when the book runs over so many words per page. But the lesson was still great. I love that books where the best treasure ever!
Carole has done a fabulous job with this series as well as her other one. I highly recommend both. They teach kids so much while being entertaining and educational. I do hope that they don't continue to grow, it makes reading at night a lot longer. LOL.

Rebecca's Reads has given If You Were Me and Lived in...Norway an honorable mention in the 2013 Choice Awards. If You Were Me and lived in ...France won second place. ForeWord Review has nominated If You Were Me and Lived in...France for best in children's non fiction literature 2013. They will be followed with Kenya, Turkey, India, and Australia. She plans to do Portugal, Greece, and Argentina next year.
