The Liberator's War has ended. King Landri Altard now reigns in the post-revolution Kingdom of Cordillera. With the unexpected death of his wife, Landri is forced to place his infant sons in the care of his most trusted allies. An early betrayal puts the identities of the young princes into question as well as others' allegiance to the Crown. This epic tale follows the lives of the princes as they travel across the Kingdom and encounter the different worlds they are destined to rule. Enemies lurk and alliances are strained as the aftermath of the revolution still lingers in the fragile Kingdom of Cordillera.
I loved this book. It's broken down in their three year sections and you get to know each of these amazing guardians that the boys are faced with. Each one offers their own strengthens and weaknesses to teach the boys. If you're a good reader, then maybe you'll get some of the lessons out of it yourself.
The character arcs are great and watching the development of the boys as they grow and come into themselves and their surroundings. The author does a great job at connecting the reader to the story. You really want to see a happy ending for these boys that are shifted around from place to place.
I really hope that a sequel is written I'd like to know what happens in the next section of the story. There are so many questions left unanswered at the end of this book. So much to explore and get to understand as the boys do. Will the guardians come back into play? Will they stay as Caleb and Artemis? What will happen? I must admit, I totally favor Artemis!
It's a great read. It has an epic feel to it.
