GWEN HARRISON:
The beautiful high-born daughter of an English duke came to America to take over her sister-in-law’s matchmaking business. But just because she’s the boss doesn’t mean she can’t fantasize about making her own perfect match with bodyguard Neil MacBain. Will the enigmatic man who haunts her dreams cost her more than she bargained for?
NEIL MACBAIN:
The retired Marine can’t deny the effect blue-blooded Gwen has on his troubled soul or his battle-hardened bodY. Bus as a client, Gwen is off-limits—until a threat from Neil’s past returns… and Gwen is caught in the crossfire. Now to keep her safe he will risk it all: his career, his life… and his heart.
Character Interview: Neil MacBain
A note from the author…this interview took place before Neil realized how much he needed Gwen in his life.
What are you most proud of about your life?
Neil: I don’t like interviews. Let me just say this right now. So, you want to know what I’m most proud of in my life…well, I haven’t killed anyone in a few years.
So you’ve killed someone?
Neil: I’m a retired marine…what do you think?
What are you most ashamed of in your life?
Neil: *glares* I don’t think that’s any of your business. What I’m ashamed of happens to be top secret, so I’ll simply have to decline that question with a ‘No Comment’ answer.
What are you most afraid of?
Neil: *moves his gaze to the window* Not getting to the people who need me in time to save them. In my nightmares…I always arrive too late.
What's the most important thing in your life? What do you value most?
Neil: Gwen. But if you repeat that I might have to answer your first question again…if you understand what I’m saying. I think about her…dream about her. I feel sorry for anyone who tries to harm her.
Are you lying to yourself about something? What is it?
Neil: I don’t lie to myself. To others…that’s expected. I know when I’ve messed up, know who I carry to bed at night in my dreams. That’s the thing about keeping your thoughts inside…you own them. No one can take them away from you.

I absolutely love the dynamic relationships that Catherine is so amazing at creating. This was the first Weekday Bride book that I've read, but it was awesome.
I love how great she is at crafting a world that could be stand alone or strung together in a fuller picture of the rest of the series.
Once again she has nailed her character development, arcs, and I truly care about them- like they were my buddies I didn't want them to make any bad choices.
The book isn't just romance, you have a suspense element going on with Neil too. It's a great book to leave you satisfied, yet wanting more. Don't all books that we love do that?
Catherine really knows how to draw in the reader and hook them. I didn't want to put the book down and I'll be looking into her other books in this series.
I can highly recommend it, as well as her Not Quite series which was the first thing that I encountered from her. She is a great writer and I hope she continues to write for years to come.
