Evan broke Cassie’s heart two months ago, and she still doesn’t know why. She throws herself into family, friends and her new job at the sheriff’s department, but nothing helps. The only thing that finally allows her heal and move on is the love of a new man, mind mage Matthew Blair. Cassie finds him…irresistible.
Matthew may also be the only one who can help keep the non-magical residents of Eagle Rock from going crazy over the murder of a beloved pastor’s wife. It looks like a sorcerer is to blame, but while Cassie tries to figure out who, others take matters into their own hands. With tensions running so hot, a single spark might set Eagle Rock ablaze.
First Chapter (Warning! Contains series spoilers. New readers to the series would be better off reading the preview of book one here.)
I've been lucky enough to read all the books (Yes, I suggest you start with book 1 *** Cassie Scot: ParaNormal Detective First Chapter ***
If you're planning on starting the series). This is definitely the best one yet... but that could be because I love how the characters and backstory keeps growing! Christine does a FANTASTIC job at keeping the reader entertained and glued to the story as she has us hop through hoops and mysteries and OMG WHEN IS THE NEXT ONE COMING OUT BECAUSE I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS! Did that just slip out? Well, I do. So you can't blame me for that little outburst.
Anyways, Christine from book 1 has given us readers real characters in an imaginative, fun, and mysterious setting. She blends real life with the magical world and it makes perfect sense! Of course we all want to go and find this elite communities and discover our own hidden Gifts and Talents! Come on, you know you want to too!
I absolutely love Cassie. She's one of my favorite witchy/non-witchy characters I've read in a long time... There's just something about her. And I really liked the concept of her self in this book (so trying to not make a spoiler). I think more books need that.
Before I go ranting and raving about how awesome this book is and how you must buy it and all the others ones... because I can, just know that I highly recommend it. It's great for paranormal and detective lovers out there. Trust me! You won't be sorry you did!
