Your Mission: Get the laser beam to the rockets so they can safely return to earth! You’ll need to use science and logic to reflect the laser beam to the rockets. Carefully place the satellite mirrors to guide your path, but watch out for space rocks that might get in your way. If you've never heard of ThinkFun, check them out not... go do it! This company doesn't want people to exist in a world of lazy brains! They are always coming up with new and exciting games that really make you use your mind. From Laser Maze, Jr. to All Queens, this company knows how to make you work for your win! And I freaking love that!
This game is no different when it comes to engaging young minds to really figure out things. My 7 year old loves it! My 3 year old is convinced she can do it all by herself (no, we aren't quite there yet... key word - yet). The basic idea is to get the laser beam to light up the rocket or rockets depending on the level of difficulty. The board itself is setup by you with the answers in the book in case you get truly stuck. You use the different elements to help you - unless it's a rock... those just get in the way.
This is a great game for homeschoolers (like us) because it is a example of bending light, and a starting point for talking about manipulating such things. Not that at our current grade levels (PK and 1/2 grade) we are actually there yet but it's still an option.
I cannot stress how awesome this game is. I always love what ThinkFun develops and this game was no different. Anything that makes my kids use logic with hands on instead of logic via a video game is a win for me! I HIGHLY recommend this game and any of their others!
