Here's what I think:
The cold remedy is just that a remedy to help you fight the off the cold symptoms. If you buy this product, understand it isn't a miracle worker, and it won't cure the cold - there's no cure for the common cold. But it does help soothe the symptoms that often make the cold feel like it is LASTING FOREVER.
The flavor is what you'd expect from sticking several different herbs together. I wasn't turned off from, but whenever I get sick I grab my bottle of Echinacea (the main ingredient in this remedy) and pop some pills. So perhaps I am already accustom to the flavor of herb combos - this isn't my first herbal remedy and I suppose I know I'm not going to taste a sugary sweet kids' medicine going in. It's definitely great at helping you survive your cold and getting back out there sooner rather than later. Several of the herbs work wonders by themselves at this, together they are awesome!
If you're sick, and you want your symptoms relieved in a natural way so you can feel more human quicker, check this stuff out. But know going in that it won't be your bubble gum flavored kids' aspirin. I recommend it.

I'm not a doctor (well, not your regular kind of doctor, I'm a "Doctor Mom" when the need is present), so I can't tell you scientifically why this help soothe a sore throat or reduce the swelling or redness. But it does. I know that many herbs have the ability to reduce inflammation, so I have to assume that at least several of these ones do just that.
Like Sprouts' other product, Cold Remedy, expect an herb-y taste. It just goes with the territory of herbal remedies. But if you understand that going in, the flavor won't bug you at all. Instead you'll be amazed at how soothing it is on a sore, achy throat. Obviously this isn't going to work on everyone - I mean, all our bodies are different and so we react to herbs differently, but for my family it's worked. And a few friends have tried it and had positive results as well.
It's soothing, definitely helps to reduce inflammation and soreness. It won't cure you of whatever has caused the problem though. This is a Band-Aid for an achy throat. If it doesn't go away and needs something more than a Band-Aid, go to the doctor. But this will help it feel better.
