| What happened in season one? Pope John Paul III resigns and disappears without trace. Journalist Peter Adam’s investigation leads him to discover a secret order known as The Bearers of the Light who have been working against the church through the centuries. The conspirators’ aim is to bring about the end of the world, based on the Prophecy of Malachi, which says that the last pope will take the name Pope Peter II. The penultimate name on their list is that of the vanished Pope John Paul III. Peter also discovers another secret. His genetic parents, who he has always believed died in a car crash, were members of The Bearers of the Light order. Peter’s own life has all along been linked to the dark powers and for the conspirators Peter himself is the key to unleashing the apocalypse. |

Journalist Peter Adam wakes up in Cologne Cathedral - with no memory of his last few days. All around him the earth is shaking and Hell is literally breaking loose as people spontaneously combust. Has the apocalypse already begun?
