What is your working title of your book?
Hexes, Hocus, and Hoodoo (although I really think I'm going to change it. It no longer fits with the story AT ALL!)
Where did the idea come from for the book?
I needed something new to write for NaNoWriMo. My husband gave me an idea... which I agreed with, but ultimately is not what I'm writing. I'm not sure how I took his idea for teen witches training to what I've started, but maybe there's a connection I'm just not seeing. LOL.
What genre does your book fall under?
It's YA. It's paranormal. But not a romance... at least not yet. I don't know if it will be or not. Romance is certainly not the focus of it.
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Oh, I'm never good with these. I can't picture a current actor in any role. No wait, I'd LOVE to see Chris Hemsworth playing Steven. I'd like to say Henri, but let's face it, he's hot but he isn't a teen anymore. But I think he'd make a great Vampyer that lost his wife while fighting and has become a mercenary. Sounds VERY similar to the role he played in Huntsman... Hmm, I'm gonna have to make sure I don't overlap the two- I wasn't fond of the movie.
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Four gifted sixteen year old recruits of the Network decide to take fate into their own hands and ultimately end up on the other side of the line.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Self-Published.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Well, I'm about halfway-ish through it and I've done it since the beginning of November. This is, after all, my NaNoWriMo project.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Hmm, I don't know. It's new for me. I typically write specifically about vampires. This has some post apocalyptic aspects and I've not read ANY of those. I'm afraid they'll give me nightmares. LOL.
Who or what inspired you to write this book?
Hubby and NaNoWriMo.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
So far? I'd say that nothing stays the same. Everything is a constant stage of shift right now. I might even be able to turn it into a series... But that is entirely on where I end up.
No cover yet... the ideas are still bouncing around.
Check out Clover's! And take a peek over at Lee Thompson's too! And I've tagged Lianne Simon!
